Minutes of Meeting of Weymouth Board of Commissioners

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Village of Weymouth was held on December 12, 2022 in the meeting room at the Medical Centre with Commissioners Gaudett, Frizzell, Doucet, Theriault and Mullen present.

Meeting was called to order by the Chair at 7:03 pm.

The minutes of the meeting of November 14, 2022 were approved as presented on motion by Commissioner Theriault and seconded by Commissioner Mullen

Business Arising out of the Minutes:
-The new HomeCare rental space nearing completion.
-A second Mobile Medical Clinic was held earlier today.

Correspondence:
-e-mail from HomeCare confirming delays in completing the final work for their senior’s program
-e-mail from Praxes Medical Group (operators of the mobile medical clinic) outlining financial arrangements for their use of the Medical Centre.

Financial Reports: An updated financial report was presented by Clerk Treasurer. Approved on motion by Commissioner Doucet seconded by Commissioner Frizzell

New Business:
-New financial arrangement from Praxes presented. While there is no set schedule yet,5 the operators hope to host a clinic at the Weymouth Medical Centre on a bi-weekly basis with alternating weeks in Digby. Clinic was fully booked for both visits and overall reaction from patients attending has been very positive

-Formal approval of our financial assistance to the “Spark of Spirit” Christmas decorating contest that had been circulated by email since our November meeting. Moved by Commissioner Theriault, Seconded by Commission Doucet “that the village provide the $650 for prises for the Spark the Spirit decorating project”. Motion carried

Regular Commission meetings will continue to be scheduled on the first Monday of the month, however, do to a holiday conflict the next meeting will be held January 9th, 2023

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:46 on motion Commissioner Frizzell seconded by Commissioner Mullen.
