Minutes of Meeting of Weymouth Board of Commissioners

A meeting of the Weymouth Board of Commissioners was held on Sep 6th, 2016 with Commissioners Gaudet, Raymond, and Mullen present. Commissioner Frizzell sent his regrets. Chair, Commissioner Gaudett called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Also present were representatives of the Weymouth Fire Department and two interested citizen.

Fire Department requested that if view of the anticipated transfer of assets to the dept that they start managing their own finances. After discussion it was moved by Commissioner Raymond, seconded by Commissioner Mullen That effective October 1st that the fire department assume all their financial affairs. Carried. Surplus from 2016 to be turned over to the department. 2017 surplus todate will also be turned over once final bills are received.

The minutes of Meetings of June 6th and Jun 20th, 2016 were approved on motion by Commissioner Raymond and seconded by Commissioner Mullen.

Business Arising out of the Minutes:
no new information of the ATV issue
flashing light is now operational
tiwondo group is using the board room.

Financial Reports: An updated financial report was presented by Clerk Treasurer. Acceptance of report moved by Commissioner Mullen and seconded by Commissioner Raymond. Carried.

Municipal finance annual report
Grant Thornton - follow up on suggestions (to be reviewed by clerk and chair)
email request to relocate desk for Nurse Practitioner (completed after the meeting)
Linda Fraser - doctor recruiting committee meeting scheduled for Sep 7th
Notice of Highway 101 task force meeting set for November 21st
Letter from solicitor of the Estate of Pauline Ruggles confirming a bequeath of $5,000 to support our medical centre

New Business:
-infrastructure projects. Clerk to check with Municipal rep on possible funding
-fire dept transfer - clerk to try to get format for meeting notice
-Roof continues to leak. Commissioner Raymond will contact Lauwen Construction to get assessment
-Home care is complaining about the condition of the driveway where it has washed away. Moved by -Commissioner Raymond, seconded by commissioner Mullen that Murray Betts Business Services Ltd make the necessary repairs. Carried

Next meeting date will be Oct 3rd, 2016.

There being no further business meeting was adjourned at 8:10 on motion Commissioner Mullen 2nd Commissioner Raymond.
