The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Village of Weymouth was held on Nov 2nd, 2020 in the meeting room at the Medical Centre with Commissioners Gaudett, Doucet, and Mullen present.

Meeting was called to order by the Chair at 7:00 pm.

The minutes of the meeting of Oct 5th, 2020 were approved as presented on motion by Commissioner Mullen and seconded by Commissioner Doucet

Business Arising out of the Minutes:
-None

Correspondence:
-Further correspondence received from Dept of Environment regarding the medical centre water supply.

Financial Reports: An updated financial report was presented by Clerk Treasurer. Approved on motion by Commissioner Doucet, seconded by Commissioner Mullen. Audited financial statements for year ending March 31st are now on hand.

New Business:
-Clerk advised that one of the Village’s GIC’s matures within the next month. This represents part of the funds bequeathed to support the Medical centre. Moved by Commission Mullen, seconded by Commissioner Doucet that the GIC be renewed for a further 1year, open term. Carried.
-We are pleased to advise that Dr Dube started his weekly orphaned patient visits Nov 3rd. Appointment have to be made through Digby Hospital. Appointments will be available on Tuesdays for the foreseeable future with support staff from NS Health.
-A request has been received for the use of the former gym section in the basement. After discussion and inspection, it was decided to remove the existing carpet and then decide what can be done to the floor to make the room usable.
-There has also been an interest expressed for the possible purchase of the old recording building. Given its deteriorated sate and the fact that the fire department no longer wish to use it was decided to determine its fair market value and continue discussions with the interest purchaser.
_The Chair advised that the building inspector is currently reviewing two unsightly premises complaints in the village and will be following up with recommendations.
-The condition of the driveway to the lower level of the medical centre was discussed. Gary Theriault, who shares the driveway with the village, has offered to make repairs with the Village providing the necessary gravel. After discussion it was decided to accept Mr. Theriault’s offer on motion by Commissioner Doucet, Seconded by Commissioner Mullen. Motion carried. Chair to arrange for delivery of the gravel.

Commission meetings will continue to be held on the first Monday of the month unless otherwise advised. Next meeting will be Monday December 7th, 2020. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 on motion Commissioner Mullen seconded by Commissioner Doucet.
