Minutes of Meeting of Weymouth Board of Commissioners

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Village of Weymouth was held on November 14, 2022 in the meeting room at the Medical Centre with Commissioners Gaudett, Frizzell, Doucet, Theriault and Mullen present.

Meeting was called to order by the Chair at 7:01 pm.

The minutes of the meeting of October 3rd, 2022 were approved as presented on motion by Commissioner Frizzell and seconded by Commissioner Doucet

Business Arising out of the Minutes:
-VON rental space -lease sign and renovations underway.
-New gutters have been installed
-Most of items on the building inspection report have been corrected. Electrical issues are awaiting availability of an electrician, drywall in stairwell will be done along with replacing upstairs windows. Alarm system has been inspected, additional sensors awaiting electrician.
-Clerk attended Waterfront meeting concerning cameras. Most commercial enterprises have cameras on site. A camera in front of the medical centre was suggested to cover the four way corner and could be tied into the HomeCare system to be installed in conjunction with their expansion. Waterfront to seek coverage for both Sissiboo Landing and their Story Book trail.

-e-mail from Dept of Municipal Affairs advising of possible funding for Health Care Professionals recruitment
-e-mail from Dept of Municipal Affairs advising of a review of the MGA.
-e-mail from NS Accessibility Directorate advising the Goods and Services will be the next accessibility standard developed.
-e-mail from Municipality of Digby requesting our 2023 tax rate.

Financial Reports: An updated financial report was presented by Clerk Treasurer. Approved on motion by Commissioner Mullen seconded by Commissioner Frizzell

New Business:
-Chair advised the NS Health in conjunction with other parties will be using our medical centre for periodic mobile clinic. For person without family medical practitioners. First clinic to be held on Nov 19th. Public announcement to be made on November 16th. Commissioner Theriault will meet representatives on Friday to provide access. Clerk will prepare lease once details are finalized.

Regular Commission meetings will continue to be scheduled on the first Monday of the month, however, do to scheduling conflict the next meeting will be held December 12th.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:27 on motion Commissioner Frizzell seconded by Commissioner Mullen.
